What is a Laser Diode?

Advanced designs, such as DFB (distributed feedback) diodes and VCSELs (vertical cavity surface-emitting lasers), improve spectral purity and beam quality .
Types and Wavelengths
Laser diodes come in various types and wavelengths:
- Red (around 660 nm), Infrared (780 nm), and Violet (405 nm) for CD, DVD, and Blu-ray applications .
