- The relay identifies the faulted segment.
- Only the breakers connected to that segment are tripped.
- Other segments remain operational, minimizing disruption . Phase-segregated relays process each phase independently, eliminating the need for synchronized data transfer between devices. This centralized protection scheme simplifies installation and enhances reliability .
